Almost 3 years ago we bought a crab apple.  It had lots of dark pink leaves and similar coloured blossom.  The first year we had a few tiny flowers, and thought it might be dying, and so we dug a trench nearby to improve drainage.  Last spring we had more blossom and a few tiny fruits-about the size of a marrowfat pea.  This year we have masses of blossom.  My question is:- is this really a crab apple?

I took some photos but am having difficulty posting them, but I knd of used your idea, and did some research on the web.  The flowers certainly look like crab apple, and there are some trees that have very small fruits, so maybe I should stop fussing and have faith that it is what the label said it was!  Note to self-YOU SHOULD ALWAYS KEEP THE LABEL!
