Got mine at the original bargain price and it is fantastic- been digging up an old lawn at home and it really makes it easy. I've not even tried it on the allotment yet.

Yup, I asked my daughter to order one for me over 2 weeks ago.  When I asked about delivery, she said she'd paid over £20 for it and the delivery date keeps being moved back............ still waiting!


This might be one downside of 'tinterweb, it is hard to shout bargains from the rooftops quietly  :(

I used mine 1st time last night and whilst i have some new aches it really did the job got loads of soil up and cleared enough space for 3 more slabs to be laid at the weekend. Helps now we had a bit of rain though.

Sorry cambourne7, I missed your reply to me.

I still don't have the hoe.  The message on the site eventually changed to 'product not currently available' with no apology.  My daughter really had the hump.  How can they do that to you, when 7 were 'available' when she ordered it? 

I've got the hump too.  She owed me a tenner, which was why I suggested she ordered the hoe for me, so now I have no hoe and no tenner either!  ;D

If you type in Silverline digging hoe there seems to be several places with the exact  same product, varying from £7 ish to almost £20. Obviously the lower end of the price range won't include delivery, which seems to be about £4.95.
However, several of them also state 'out of stock', but there is a site called APK tools which is selling for £7.60 inc. VAT plus delivery of £5.00 (ok if you need other things in the same delivery, otherwise seems out of proportion for the price of the product).  Will be seeing what else they sell that I can't live without to make the delivery worthwhile!

We have been using Azadas to clear our allotment as they are much easier to use than spades.  We got ours from

They have different weights and sell the short handle version which is very usefull for getting between plants.  The price includes postage and a good quality handle.

I had been looking for an Azada for a long time as I can not use a spade very well and found the link from Real Seeds a couple of years ago.

I am thinking of ordering these (above).  Has anyone else ordered these.  Just wondered how they are for size.  Is the bigger one wide enough people find?
