I received a free packet of seeds today and they were mixed salad leaves. They included a salad leaf called Cima Di Rapa, does anyone know what it is like.

:-\ I got free seeds of this a couple of years ago, it runs to seed very quickly and sets seed prodigiously. Didn't think it tasted of much and decided that there was a reason it was free...people don't like it !

It is considered a delicacy in Italy.  Basically a sprouting turnip.   You will need to cut off the flower heads asap and eat them.  Nice if you like that sort of thing.

It is also known as broccoli raab.  Tried to grow it last year but it went to seed in the trays.  Is it something like kailan?  Going to have another bash this year

I grew it last year and would say that it is overrated, as the flowering buds are much more bitter than any other form of broccoli.
It does however, produce an early crop of buds for eating in June, before it bolts if allowed to get dry.
