Hormone Rooting Powder

Does anyone know if this has a shelf life? I have some in the shed that I want to use to take my chrysanthemum cuttings but it is a couple of years old and an open jare. Does it last forever or should it be thrown away and I start from afresh?

Not too sure Jerry, but Ive had a pot on the go for years and Im still having good results.  Will keep it on the go until I have some failures.

Never done comparative tests, but soldier on with the same old tin! Mostly for tomato cuttings. = Tim

Hormone rooting powder does go out of date. The hormone part becomes inactive after a period of time. We found some old stock when we restarted our trading hut. I was trying to establish what price we should be selling it at and came across this information about the product. Therefore it went in the bin.
However if I had actually bought some and it became dated I probably would still use it and see how I got on. The amount you use  and the frequency with which most people use this would make it rather expensive otherwise.
