Has anyone tried this? If it's as good as it's reported to be it seems like a good substitute for psb and ordinary broccoli as I will be pushed for space this year. I would be interested to know what it tastes like and if it is easy to grow.
Smile, it confuses people.

Grew some last year and seemed to be very popular with flea beatles.  I has a lovely large flowers so I am putting some in the flower garden this year since I got a packet for 50p.  It is better than summer purple broccolli but not as productive as calebrese.   Personally I would choose a repeat heading calebrese.

tai haku

never grew it but ate it pretty much daily when living in singapore  ;D If you grow it I recommend harvesting it as a baby veg and serving in oyster sauce with crispy garlic slices.

Debs

Hi Tai Haku,

How would you cook crispy garlic slices?

Basically slice garlic cloves thin and then deep fry. til brown and crispy - a bit unnecessary but a fine garnish, here's a recipe that hits the same flavour notes:

I guess that you might have picked this up from yesterday's D. Telegraph. I am also interested. Can anyone let us know the best place to buy seed, please?

Emagggie

Indeed I did rbull. I think Marshalls sell the seed.
Thanks all for the info, I will give it a try especially after seeing Yuet_Lee's  pics. :o  Great.

Also read about in Telegraph and have to have a go - ordered some seeds - F1 variety from Fothergills (no P&P on seeds).
