covering for dahlias

Has anyone any bright ideas for covering dahlias.  I just need to cover over the top when they are in bloom to stop the heavy rain bashing em.  I was thinking of getting hold of an old plastic green house and putting thick polythene just over the roof and fixing it. Any idea`s.

I only grow the dwarf type and have no trouble with them how about a wig wam shape cover with fleece  3ft canes not sure height you are looking for but you can store that type of shape
