Petrol Strimmer recomendations?

Hi All

I'm looking to buy a petrol strimmer for no more than £140.
Any recomendations, or help?

Its mainly to strim the pathways and edges at the lottie, we do have brambles and nettles!

If you want a cheapish, lightwight strimmer, Id suggest a Homelight one from B&Q, only about £95. I`ve had one for a couple of years and have been very pleased with it.

I looked at this model this morning, but DH did't know the brand and was reluctant to buy it.
Is it easy to start?

I bought a Ryobi touch start expandit from Screwfix Direct.Starts with a battery.I also bought different attachments to go with it.I highly recommend it.

That sounds like a great idea. My Mcculloch strimmer is greatr once it gets going but it can be a pain to start. They have the Ryobi one at Amazon for £141.

I've got a RYobi Expandit one too.... came with both brushcutter adn normal line strimming bits adn I've since bought the mini cultivator for it which is useful for seedbeds and a bit of weeding but is in no waqy a rotavator....I've also got the hover mower but as I'm steadily getting rid of all the lawn in favour of vegetable beds and all the paths are paved I'll be getting rid of the mower sometime....

I`ve had a Ryobi combi in the past and it didn`t last a season. Wouldn`t touch them with a bargepole. ;D The homelight one starts first time everytime.

Hi everyone and thank you for the help, I didn't expect so many replies.
Have been to B+Q in the end and bought the homelight one for £95.
Decided for how I will use it this would be better for me...just to strim my edges and paths maybe a few times a year.
I am looking forward to using it now, will save my knees, because had been cutting these areas with shears.....no laughter at the back please.... :D
