so there goes my blood pressure again. so infuriating that these issues are not brought to more people's attention.

Just my opinion but I see little difference to who runs the show, lying thieveing self serving gits in this country or lying self serving gits in brussels, they is all the same.. cept the Dutch, whose mindset and approach to social and economic problems is second to none.. but this is just my opinion, based on an MP's pension fund... whilst many struggle to get a decent pension, you wanna see how much gravy all our MP's are pouring over their own dinner plates.  Have a look at this...

Trying to spoil the new year for Hugh are you Tim?

I couldn't help but laugh about how people are typecasted in the article, a farmer's wife and a former communist and even more former communists whooooooohooooo scary. Especially the farmer's wife I find very scary whoahahaha, what can one expect from a farmer's wife? What journalism, cracks me up.
Victor would say: I can't beleeeeeeeeeeeeve it!!!

Hi Tim...we've been in the Common Market for 30 years, we should support the whole idea of an integrated Europe.I see nothing but good...high street prices are tumbling...environment concerns are being addressed..poisons that kill the wildlife have been banished..We should have supported the EU when it came to Iraq, and as for gravy train officials, what is the alternative...gravy train Enron..gravy train Esso...gravy train big business not forgetting gravy train trade unions. The next thing should be a totally European Armed Forces. Vive la Europe.

the real empire builders?

and this

http://www.ecozoic.com/eco/Neo.asp

and those wanting closer ties with the USA, which incidently hates the idea of a free trading europe???????

Ken my point about our politicians is that they are lining their own pockets with taxpayers money, not that, that, should come as a surprise as for enron and esso... I dont buy from either company and have been active in the stop esso campaign..

in my honest opinion those in the whitehouse are well dangerous peeps, fanatics and single minded.. one secretary of state, whose name passes me by at this time... actually makes his staff PRAY every morning before work? wtf is all that about.. I find Europe exciting, is a shame when I am in spain talking to the spanish, how they view britains attitude towards the EU.. one of the best things we ever done was get rid of LSD.. (not acid :) ).. but pounds shilling and pence, and the metric system is a peach, so easy to understand, and should the Queen be wiped of me dosh, aint gonna effect me none.. to tell truth when the euro came into forcce .. I felt left out.. the euro is easy anfd the arguements against it pretty lame and the same arguements were used about decimilisation I think...  I understand why some are sceptical about europe, but this isnt born from reality, its really about fear of change.. me? I embrace it.. good or bad.. if it is bad then like the song goes.. "take a sad song and make it better".. about to babble if I havent already LOL

Yes, Ken - just grist to the mill. And yes - a lot of good has come out of it.

But for all the advantages & subsidies for the poor poverty stricken British, new regs & cost cutting mean more small English producers out of business & the strangling of self-will & individuality - & if 'integration' means Spaniards running out nuclear programme & the French taking over Thames Water etc etc - & who's having the Railways & the Stock Exchange?? - I'm SO glad that I've seen Britain as was. Just sad for the children. = Tim

Where is Hugh? I was expecting some fireworks, especially so close to the new year celebrations.

I started to get the feeling that in Britain, one has to be kind of brave to be openly pro-Europe (with all respect for the opinions of the anti-Europe people, even if I don't agree).
Half the time I don't understand the arguments anyway, I read things and think 'is this true?'. Articles like the one here, I never take seriously anyway, just based on the silly style.

I can't wait for the Euro in Britain and start ordering stuff for the lottie from there and not have to deal with the exchange rates and complications just to pay. So much good gardening stuff there. See? I'm willing to send some of my money.

I reckon that once the E.U has settled down we will look to each country what it does best, e.g. Spain for holidays and sun, France for growing climate and so on. Peeps will make most money from what is available cheap.Like all the folk going to France for booze and less expensive cars.In my own area, apart from coastal scenes, and corn, we have..er...immigrants working the land at £3 an hour.
