In the garden today

Lots of birds - all feeding hard then trying to get a drink. Birdbath and fish pond frozen solid! When you feed them, please don't forget to put some water out for them!

Also a very skinny-looking fox trying to dig (unsuccesfully) in frozen ground. Possibly looking for a beetle or something? Felt really sorry for it - any ideas what I could put out for it to eat?

Thanks Flighty - some useful info there.

I wouldn't normally put food out in case it encourages rats but this poor fox looked so cold and hungry! I've put out a little bit of fresh meat, an egg, a few grapes, half an apple and a handful of pyracantha berries. It will be interesting to see what's gone in the mornng! Thanks again.
