As courgettes are now finished and it is now the pumpkin season, I'm going to try subsituting pumpkin for courgette in some of the chocolate courgette cake recipes!  And as pumpkins last all winter that should mean a lot of chocolate cake, yum, yum!
I've over 60 pumpkins lyiing on the floor in an upstairs unheated bedroom, various different varieties, so I might just have to try the cake with each different sort to see if it makes any difference! :)

Oh Peanuts, 60 pumpkins in your bedroom!!! I think I should stand down as Pumpkinlover-only 20 including buternut squashes-less now as I grow the big ones to give away for Halloween!

The book Red Velvet Chocolate Heartache uses lots of vegetables in cakes including squash beetroot etc.

2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

Thanks Antipodes, I'll try your little pumpkin chocolate cake.  Only trouble is that I'm trying very hard not to eat cake . . . . .
And don't worry, Pumkinlover, they aren't in our bedroom but an unheated spare one, where they can stay all winter, being gradually used or given away!
