An assortment of chillies I picked this morning.
The four big green ones on the left are Joe E Parker,
The pointy green one just above them is a hot Bangladeshi one, not sure what it is,
The red ones are another Bangla one, but not so hot,
The green pointy one on the left of the penises is Fatalli,
Below that are five Naga Morich,
To the left of them are some dark purple Banglas from the plant I grew from a cutting,
The orangey one is Peach Habanero.

I've always thought that chillies should be eaten when they change to their final colour but my Bangla friend tells me that the flavour is often better when they are still green.  I don't eat any of them but my son in law loves them, the hotter the better.  :o

I like the green ones too - sometimes recipes call specifically for green chillies (often Thai or Indian), obviously different flavours for different things.
I take it that your chillies are for the rest of the family then!!

A sight to behold  Betty - in our household a little chilli goes a long way...............

... in mine about half of the crop is going to end up in pickled onions or picallili... a good pickle is measured by its blast radius after all.... and there's some I want to try this italian preserving thing of having roast mild chillis, stuffed with cheese, preserved in salted olive oil.... you eat them as an appetiser..... though salty mild chilli with cheese and olive oil sounds like it's going to get wolfed down till there's nothing left in the jar and s*d the spaghetti.......

Yes Ten  ;), I grow them for family and friends, I really don't like the sensation of having my mouth on fire.

My Bangladeshi friends bring all their friends over to my plot to show them the chillies, they probably think I'm mad for growing but not eating them.
