P&P was quite high and post extruciatingly slow.  It was well outside the time for logging a complaint with paypal.

They were sent as samples.  Did not have any other issues.  No certificates or customs charges paid.

Their Pisarecka Zlutoluske dwarg bean is magnificent.

Thanks for that link galina - the squash pages in particular are to drool over :D. There are so many varieties in each family with good descriptions. Difficult to choose! P & P is only 2.50 euros too!

Private collectors - there are quite a few, but their websites are often not in English.  Shouldn't be a problem with google translate. 

As private collectors work hard to keep a treasure trove of rare varieties going, there is often a request for help with this effort, either to send freshly produced seeds back or to distribute to others, to keep rare varieties more widely grown.  Please be sensitive to requests for help with seedsaving.  Most private collectors make little or no money from their seeds, unlike seed shops, they are enthusiasts who keep rare varieties from going extinct.

I forgot to say, seed portions from private collections are usually fairly small, just enough to grow and save a larger portion of seeds for the future.

The header 'Seed Shopping Sites' does not really apply to most private collections, but Goodlife asked whether we knew any .....

Ebay traders often have interesting varieties too without expecting help with keeping varieties from extinction.

Curse you!..... If I'd seen that site a few weeks ago I'd have kept the plot in Oxford just to grow squashes on..... they do everything!  :o .... Now I'll have to try and get a third plot .....

Well I came across Nordic Genetic Resource Centre...Bit like our seed library..and sometimes they release seeds for private individuals to grow..so I wrote them "a story"..and we'll see it I'm lucky.. ;) ;D One can only try...
I made a 'shopping list' of all sorts from back old home..some varieties that I didn't even know they existed...
I hope they feel sorry for 'little, poor, old' emigrant ::)
But if any of you have any connection for college or university or any other organization they should provide seed for research....I wonder if we could make 'club' together here in A4A for some purpose that would fill their 'release' category's ;D
So..clever ones...how about getting your 'grey matter' in gear and 'make up' a good reason for us to get some rarity's to our seed saving circles ;D

IT WORKED ;D ;D...I just received email from Nordic... saying that they have just sent my seed request ;D ;D....AND....I assume they are free as well ::) I suppose it helped being Scandinavian too ;D
I ordered err..requested some beans and peas and turnips and tall growing wheat or rye...and something else too..tried not to bee too greedy ::)..I could have filled the form up manytimes but that would not have worked..

Well my seed arrieved from 'Nordic' and they were free...as long as I don't sell the produce or the seeds or use them for breeding purposes.
There was letter that explained that the "seeds are part of living cultural heritage and encouraged to be kept going on through seed saving"
Wonderful...so I got small sample pack of each of the things requested..Now I just have to grow and save seeds from them..and SHARE ;D ;D...future swaps are in planning ;D
All the varieties are Finnish and Swedish origin..maybe next year I'll try to widen the selection to other Nordic countries..who knows I might be lucky again ;D Nordic has such a treasures stored away....one can only dream..
