I like the pics on this site.  It take a few moments to download a catalogues.  Prices prorate are good but designed for professional growers so larger packet sizes but some lovely pictures.

Just to add I received my seeds from Terwins promptly and they also included a trial pack of mixed radish. (I was quite pleased to find Spanish Black (Morada) carrots on their site.) They charged £1.25 for postage which isn't as hefty as some, although I find I use DT Brown more now as they have free postage on seed orders.

After seeing how many seed banks there are i realise that searching them
would be ... very, very time consuming.

Ideas:

(1)  Someone should start a seed 'index' website that allows visitors
        to search all the seedbanks looking for specific types of seeds or
        varieties of seeds, cultivars, hybrids,  etc.

(2)  Someone should figure out how to configure google to only search
        a specific set of websites (eg seed banks)  -- perhaps this idea could
        be employed in idea (1) above.

(3) Someone should create a search engine, like google, that's focused
       on fruit and veggie growing, agricultural supplies and services.

If any of these 3 ideas has already been implemented could you kindly
post a comment to this thread and let me please ?

Seedbanks are not designed or intended to be sources of seed for general growing.  They provide special interest seed, for example seeds for a specific gene or for specific research.  They often stipulate in their MTAs (material transfer agreement) that no profit will be made from their seed or that research carried out will be shared with them.

A great deal of their accessions are not named, just numbered, so that would just not work out in practice.  If looking for something specific for a reason, we will just have to wade through and possibly need to convince the seedbank why we want something.  They don't see themselves as suppliers of seeds to the general public.

Most of the other seed sources can be googled quite successfully by adding the word 'seed' after whatever it is we are looking for.

Thanks Galina.  I presumed that "seed banks" were simply seed shops... selling to the public.  We live and learn. :)
