My dogs are having runner beans with their dinner and they are lovin' it!
(Well it's one way of using up the ones that have gone a bit big.)

hehe looks like your dog is enjoying that! I was thinking if we had our chickens they would love these big beans! (should be getting the chucks in about a week)

Labrador is the main pest of runner beans in our garden.  He strips all the beans he can reach; the first year I thought a deer had got in until he was caught in the act.  He even eats the leaves.  He can't be left unsupervised in the garden throughout the summer as the damage sets the plants back badly.

He also enjoys ripe plums, strawberries/raspberries, a little salad - I think he believes the veg garden is a buffet especially grown for his enjoyment!

So be warned I hope your beans are safely at the allotment if your dogs develop a taste for them!
