We had a very wet spell in august, the onions got lovely and big but it was so wet and the bottoms started to rot!

Already out, dried and just waiting to be tidied and netted!!! Lovely crop, long echalotes, red onions and squat brown onions, two varieties. Best crop so far (I think it was the wetter spring weather).
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

I wait until the tops start to keel over. I have lifted garlic and one shallot variety, the rest are still erect and growing.
