How long do tomatoes take to ripen on the vine or bush?

In my (limited) experience, and I only grow outdoors, this is a "how long is a piece of string?" question  ::). Depends on so many factors.

I picked my first one yesterday, I think it took about 2 weeks after I noticed it was turning from green. This was in my greenhouse and a Tigerella plant, smaller cherry toms might be quicker.

we have 2 tumbler, 1 marmande and a tigerella colouring up, we've usually eaten some before now but, with all the cold weather, we're only just catching up , watch out, once they start, you'll be drowning in them ;D

I have 3 garden pearls in a hanging basket which has had green toms on it for about a month although they are going a yellowy shade now.  32 cordon which most have green toms on.  7 bush which also have green toms on them and 7 greenhouse toms which have just started to grow toms.  I just thought that in particular the hanging basket toms were taking a little long to ripen.
