Chickens and potato haulms

Am I OK to give the uprooted haulms to the chickens, or am I better off putting them straight on the compost heap? Seems a waste....  ::)

No fruit on them, BTW.

ours wont eat them but like to scratch around the soil at the roots

I was told they can be piosonous to chooks so always compost them :)

Ta for that, I did suspect that they may be poisonous so the compost heap it shall continue to be.  :)
