Satan's Kiss strange thing

My Satan's Kiss started flowering in Jan/Feb and produced loads of tiny (0.5cm fruit), which turned red, but were completely unhot. Now it's produced another lot of fruits the right size (2ish cm) which are hot

The bhut jolokia did the same thing. I just tried one of the new batch of fruit and it's affected my hearing  :D

the other chilis that fruited early on were all the right size and hotness (so far as I can tell)
