My old hosepipe is approaching the end of it's life and I would like to replace it with a non kink (kink resistant) brand.
As there is quite a lot advertised, does anyone have any thoughts on what I should go for ?. Tried a Forum search but nothing came up.
Many thanks

I'm pleased with mine.

Be aware that there are varying qualities of hosepipe, even Hozelock has varying qualities.
I think the better one for not kinking from them is called Ultra-pro.
The lowest one  is called Ultra-tough, then there's Ultra-flex, and the best one is Ultra-pro.

I bought a 50 metre non kinking Hozelock hose and stand in June 1991 just before mioving to Belgium.

It gets left ouside year round come heatwave or big freeze and is only just starting to develop a slight kink in one place.   Can't tell you the model.  I doubt if they had options then anyway but it's certainly been worth it.

I bought a wall mounted one (Hozelock) cost a bomb but with discounts worked out at £50 for 30 metres and it has a rewind action so never kinks (shouldn't probably have said that! - sods law it will do so tonite!

There are some wondrously expensive ones but they are a lot more expensive and I don't know quite how good they are!

I would also go for Hozelock or Wickes. In the long run,  this is certainly a case of you get what you pay for! The one NOT to go for is a non-branded one from The Range! Bought one in Spring from them and within 10 days it had sprung leaks in various places, and kinked so badly the kinks were almost permanent, I learned the hard (expensive) way! One the other hand, when we moved into our present property 7 years ago, the previous owners had left one which was left out 24/7 and ran down a field to serve an old bath. Don't know how long they had had it but it has been trampled on by flocks of sheep all the years we have lived here and it still hasn't got a break in it. It is yellow and has Wickes printed along its length - would recommend.

Nothing is ever as it seems. With appropriate equations I can prove this.

Silver fox,

Try this out for seeing whether you want one of the hoses on here.

My plot-neighbour bought a cheapo one from Lidl and it is brilliant.  Very thick but also flexible and left outside in all weathers.  Well worth looking out for. He can't remember how much he paid but it was cheap.

Do complain - they're not cheap, and mine's been good for years. And it gets abuse, dragged about, bunged in places. Maybe you've got a dodgy one. Complain! ask for replacement.
