I find it runs to seed really quickly, so harvest as soon as you can, later in the year cut it down and it will come back again, I've still got one plant from last year.

Mine doesn't tend to run to seed til about May the year after...  we have just binned the last from last year... but the new season is now ready.. . :)

I've grown this for the first time this year (d**n that Wyevale 10p sale), it looks magnificent but I'm not sure what to do with it - can anyone point me to reliable recipes?

I just steam it for about 4 mins (max!) and serve it as a green

I like mixing it with feta cheese and herbs inside a filo pastry, a sort of spanokopita. Eg:

If it is young and soft and chopped, it melts into any sort of casserole and almost disappears, adding to the flavour and texture, and getting healthy greens into people who think they don't like it.

I have grown it for years, i treat it like spinach when cooking, keep harvesting the leaves, it overwinters wonderfully, i normally let one run to seed to save the seeds from it

Thanks for all the ideas.  I didn't realise it would overwinter, either.  Don't we learn lots on here!
