Yeh - did all that.

They then came back in October last year and said they were reevaluating demand and resources and would be back to me.

Couldn't wait for those muppets so took a plot at Hook.

on 28 May I get a call from a very nice lady who asks if I would now like to go and look at Tolworth Main site, and who then sends me a plan with my old plot shown as available.

Am sticking with Hook.

Too much effort put in to start again, even if the soil would be better... and drier in winter...

Fingle....

We have b*stard clay which makes de-weeding it a nightmare.

On the plus side it holds the water well.

The Hook ones near the cricket ground ?

Yeh They're the ones.

The "Management" is getting paranoid about travellers getting in and camping/stopping on the cricket pitches and/or the allotments. So now we have to unlock/lock two gates before getting in.

My plot is the last on the right if you go off road when entering the site. Lots of plots are overgrown, including both my neighbouring plots.

Have dug trenches to limit weed spread and drain the thing - hence "trenchboy"

Our shop is u/s.

Did you mention beer?

Fingle....

More than welcome to pop down my shed and try my home made black cherry wine in 3 or 4 weeks !

I often go for a pint after a days pottering, in Kingston

Coo - Black Cherry Wine...

You're a real pro, you are.

That 3/4 weeks wait is tickling those tastebuds.

Fingle....

May turn out to be cherry vinegar !!

Still, I can put it in a raffle or something hehe

Malden Manor

Woodies - has a beer festival 19-21 August

Fingle....

Well well.... The wine turned out to be LOVELY, now on one made from Blackberries from lottie, bubbling away nicely.

Yes I like the Willoughby and the Albert Arms, Not sure I have been to the others.
Im a Scrumpy Jack man myself (apart from my home made grog) so Im fairly limited, although Im sure Strongbow tastes less chemically now.

Good Luck with your plots people. Perhaps we can have an Xmas drinky or something.

2 years late on the thread, but did a search on "Tolworth" !!!

I got my plot on Raeburn Lotts, in Tolworth in April - Very happy with it.

It wasn't in a bad state,  well, as bad as it could have been.

I thought I'd add my name to the list...

Hi, I'm in Tolworth too at the main allotments. Got my lottie back in March, really enjoying it there, friendly neighbours and plot not too overgrown. There seems to be plans to expant the allotments as lots of new sites have been marked out - lots of demand I gather.
Anyone else still around from the area?

Fingle....

Well its been about a year scince I was down the plot (apart from the occasional visit) due to life things.
I now have an army of enthusiastic helpers and we have big plans......
