I've grown some Minibel tomatoes for our plant sale (this Saturday) They are a dwarf variety and are only about 4inches high and flowers are starting to appear.  I'm just wondering how much I could charge for them.

Weedy little things in Wilkinson were 99p, mine are nice sturdy plants.

Would £1 each be too much?

I actually would go  1.25, they look super little plants..not your regular plant . Good Luck XX Jeannine

I tend to shift more if I give a couple of different price options eg: £1.25 each or 3 for £3.50. Virtually everyone will buy multiple plants thinking they are saving money even though the difference is nominal & they wouldn't necessarily of bought that many if they had been priced individually.

I sell my plants  to fellow plot holders which are planting out size @50p each.

But I suppose for charity £ 1 does not seem excessive.

Squash64, is this a charity sale?  If so I am sure that peeps would pay a fair price.  Deciding on the price would depend on how many you have to shift and how many people you expect at the sale.

People always seem to want a bargain these days so you will have to judge the market.  I agree that the multi-buy idea is good, why not make a couple of signs ready to swap over if necessary.  £1.25 / 3 for £3.50 and another £1.20 / 4 for £4, depending on how many you have to sell.

Tee Gee - what a bargain!

Thanks for the replies.
I think I will go for the multi-buy option.

I've only got about 8 of the size in the photo, but about 25 which were planted later so are a bit smaller.  Maybe 75p each / 3 for £2?

Charge what you can get away with(within reason)-I sell mine for 60p but folks around here have deep pockets and short arms ;D

My experience last week was that people were happy to pay 50p for 4" pots of Gardeners Delight and similar, bigger heritage plants went for £1 each. We also sold a tray of 6 very small GD for a pound.
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

Our site usually sells them for 50-70p depending on the variety.

Start off expensive then drop the price as the day goes on if they are not selling is always my gambit with these things. If you sell out at a low price too soon you can not put the price up but they can always go drop

Put the biggest on at something like £2  if they are bigger than shop ones and the smaller ones at a lower price.

Play it by ear.
