I had a duck as a pet when I was little. I mean at infant's school, her name was tuppence. I don't know why but according to my mother I called her tuppence. She came from an fertile egg, some one gave us which hatched.

We had her for some time and her eggs made lovely cakes, then one day I came home from school and she had gone from her open pen.

I overheard the grown ups say some one took her but I reckon now that she found her wings and flew off.

I hope she had a happy life because she was my friend and I loved her.

I had the opporunity to buy ducks eggs last weekend....

So two questions....how often do ducks lay eggs?

And how long do you cook for a soft boiled exac like the pic?

tim

Assuming largish eggs - room temperature - add boiling water - then 4.30 mins from boil.

Taking an old friend out to lunch at her local pub, warm poached quail's eggs turned up as a garnish on a delicious plate of salmon mousse and asparagus. They rear quails in their garden. A delicious pop in the mouth, then warm yolk pouring out. The first time I have thought quails' eggs worth eating.

Or a spoon, Granny??

No - & we usually have them in Salads or Curry.
