I wonder if there have been some aphids having fun in your polytunnel?

saddad

Aphids were all I could think of Ian when Manics asked me on Sunday but they hadn't noticed any creepies... maybe they have ladybirds!!  ;D

manicscousers

they're like little blisters if that helps  ???

saddad

Sounds very like aphids or other sap suckers like thrips... then  :-X

will have a look closely on wednesday..had a firkle today, saw 2 hens egg sized tubers on one of them  ;D

I have had at least 5 people this year contact me with the same looking problem but it is all with different varieties.
The thing that they all had in common was that they were grown indoors/undercover.
There is an aphid called the glasshouse aphid which can multiply quickly and cause damage.

It couldn't be scorch caused by condensation and a sunny morning could it?

doesn't look like scorch to us, seen enough of that where people have watered all the plants for the sale in the poly when it's been warm  ::)

just noticed this is in the wrong place, sorry folks..there are no insects present, Friend of ours looked at it and tasted it, yeuck, said it tastes salty, could be feed in the soil?
only thing we've used is chicken pellets..he's going to look in his books, see if there's a clue..btw, they don't get watered, we use a seep hose  :)

Could it possibly be red spider mite?

had a p.m about blown lenticels, looks like it, due to too little air in there, we had to close the plastic door when the weather went cold and I was worried about the tomatoes  ::)
had the doors open both ends all today, hope it helps  ;D
