I think that it is lovely to send greetings.

Yes there is a BUT coming.

This forum could have a special place for birthday and other greetings such as anniversaries.    In fact, as it is unwise to reveal intimate details on line. Specific information is risky and should never be offered on a public forum.

I never reveal mine  exactly  as a security measure. Once some one has found out your name, address and date of birth you are liable to become a victim of identity fraud.  Even without it all, the risk is there.

Perhaps another way of exchanging congrats would be more appropriate and less risky.
