Hello everyone
Ive just taken on allotment so am very new to veg growing :o
I have been reading about companion planting as a means of pest control. I dont want to use chemicals at all on the plot so am very interested in what methods of natural pest control people use and and companion planting ideas.
Ive found out about sowing carrots and onions in alternate rows, marigolds with runner beans and poached egg plant with peas !! are there any others ???

Sorry to waffle on  :) :)

Hi Mandy and welcome to A4A  ;D  And if that's waffling then you will find plenty of fellow wafflers on here  ;)  :D

Marigolds seem to be a real help for everything, unfortunately they are not a favourite of mine. I also sow some Summer Savoury to help keep the black fly off the broad beans - its a case of every little helps!

And thanks for the link Manics - I'm still using the Louise Riotte book  :)

Thankyou for the very useful links, that will give me something to think about  ;D ;D ;D

Hi MandyP, welcome to the forum. What I need is something to plant with marigolds to stop the slugs eating them  ::)  ;D

best choice is wife and mother-in law..no weed would dare to cover that ground
at least not without ear plugs;D
