You know the RHS Pledge?

http://www.rhs.org.uk/Gardening/Grow-Your-Own/Pledge-form

You get to do a competition. I won the one in March, and was sent this email:

"Dear Grow Your Own newsletter subscriber, Thank you for entering our recent competition in the March e-newsletter. I am pleased to tell you that you have won a easy access coldframe from Two Wests & Elliott. Congratualtions! Would you please send me your postal address, so I can arrange for your prize to be sent out. Your prize will be sent out as soon as possible, but please allow 28 days.

Once again, congratulations.

My point is that there now is an April competition. But their link is broken.

http://email.rhs.org.uk/interface/external_view_email.php?J851174379622224741031537195&utm_campaign=April%2BGrow%2BYour%2BOwn%2BMembers&utm_source=emailCampaign&utm_medium=email

This offers a very desirable "two beautiful wooden plant houses worth £199 to give away, thanks to Haxnicks. We also have 20 second prizes of £20 Thompson & Morgan vouchers to get your year off to a good start. And we have five third prizes of Alys Fowler's new book, The Edible Garden (RRP £18.99)."

But when you try to access the "To enter, just answer one easy question." you are sent to some rubbish about "Surveys".

Obviously I am not going to win twice.

But what happns to the rest of you who click on this competition?

Just had to answer one easy question and submit entry.  Sadly the question wasnt...

'Do you know anyone daft enough to spend £199 on this haxnicks plant house we're giving away?'

Best laid plans and all that

artichoke

The point is that SOMEONE is going to win it.

It was me in March. Go for it! When I fleetingly saw it, it was about which plant needs poles for climbing (beans),  but now the link is broken.

Yes, the link is not working.  Very frustrating, I love free competitions.  And of course I wouldn't buy one of these things, but what's EBay for?

artichoke

It's really annoying that they have set up their website and it doesn't work.

hippydave

i have just entered and the entry went through just fine  ;)
you may be a king or a little street sweeper but sooner or later you dance with de reaper.

:(

TommyTomato

All done..to be honest I would be thrilled to win it...

If you can only view the survey completed page then delete any cookies you have for zoomerang.com then click on the link again & it will work.

The closing date is 16th of April & the answer is very obvious.

Sinbad7

Congratulations on winning artichoke, I'd have been delighted if it had been me.

Worked for me too, would love one of those wooden plant houses for my tiny back garden. Many thanks for posting this, artichoke.

artichoke

Sadly I don't know how to find or delete "cookies" but good luck to those who can make the competition work. I was stunned to hear I had actually won last month's competition.

I entered a few days ago, but I thought the question was a tough one.  :-X       ;)         ;D ;D ;D
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

artichoke

Thanks, Baccy Man, but I am using Linux/Ubuntu/Firefox and cannot find any relevant tools or cookie lists - the vocabulary seems different.

Baccy Man

With firefox on ubuntu you go to  Edit >Preferences > Privacy & you can edit the cookies from there. You may need to change the settings to 'Use custom settings for history' in order to access your cookies.

Thanks again, I'll try to be brave.

Normally my son looks after that sort of thing.....
