Compost and Compost Bin Competitions

The County of Leicestershire Allotment & Leisure Gardens Council is organising two competitions as part of Compost Awareness Week 2-8th May 2010. These are

1.   Painted Compost Bin Competition.
2.   Best Compost Competition

These competitions are open to all residents, schools and allotment societies in Leicestershire.  I am writing to ask whether any Allotment 4 All members in Leicestershire  would consider taking part. We are asking companies  to  donate prizes to the event and are organising it to promote composting and recycling not as  a commercial venture.  We would greatly appreciate the support of forum members  in  encouraging composting as a productive means of gardening and as an effective means of reducing the waste sent to landfill. The event is supported by the Leicestershire Waste Partnership and we would particularly welcome entries from schools. Further details are available at www.eagsociety.co.cc.
