Hi All.

I am thinking of growing some Sweet Pea's along the fence in my back garden.

I was thinking of mixing a few runner beans plants in with the sweet pea's - would this be OK? I read somewhere that sweet pea's are poisonous - is this correct? Would this effect the runner beans?  ???

Any help would be really appreciated.

I happily mix sweet peas and runner beans together, it can work quite well as the sweet peas usually finish before the beans (because I can never keep up with picking them!) and can be removed when they get tatty leaving the beans to grow on. If you want to grow them close to a fence you will definitely need to water them well and frequently as they won't get much rain there.
Don't know if they are poisonous or not.......I've never tried eating them! But they don't affect the beans anyway. ;D
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴
