Is anyone buying these?

I am interested in Earthboxes, especially for tomatoes, as I hope to avoid blight for the first time for years.

It looks to me as if Lidl have picked up the principle and reduced the cost from £30 - £70 to £4.50

I made an "earthbox"  for my daughter last year out of 2 plastic boxes, taking a couple of hours and a lot of moaning as we sawed and drilled and split the plastic; and the boxes were not cheap. The growing results were excellent, though we did it rather late in the season.

So I am buying a few of these in the hopes that I can grow a row of tomatoes in them instead of at my allotments. Any experience out there?

They look good, thanks for the links Artichoke  ;D ;)
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

Son and daughter-in-law are in Lidl at this very moment, and report round ones that have a similar watering device to the square ones, so they are commissioned to buy 11 more at £3.99 each. Even if they are smaller and less efficient than the official Earthboxes, at that price I am happy to tweak the system until it works.

I plan to use them in back garden for tomatoes and other Solanaceae that don't do very well on my allotments.
