Mortality

I have just recieved an american cheque in the post, is it ok to pay into a UK bank? ???
Please don't be offended by my nickname 'Mortality'
As to its history it was the name of a character I played in an online game called 'Everquest'
The character 'Mortality Rate' was a female Dark Elf Necromancer, the name seemed apt at the time and has been used alot by me over the years.

Check the fees your bank charges often they are very high. I normally use http://auctionchex.com to change money orders/cheques they charge 95 pence per batch of money orders/cheques sent to them wether it is a single cheque or a load all from different people.
The website is pretty self explanatory but basically you send them foreign cheques once they clear the money is transferred directly to your bank account. They are also cheap if you need to pay someone in the US by cheque or in Europe by IBAN transfer.
