There's a 99p shop in Halifax, and I guess elsewhere, that has onion sets, shallots, good selection of potatoes, flower and veg seed and fruit bushes. I always thought these places just sold tat until I came to these forums. Poundland btw are selling cheap fleece as well as all of the above (e.g. 10m x 1m).

For anyone looking for this in Halifax, turn left out of the Tesco metro and it's about 50yds walk

Indeed. They also sell a nifty Wilkinson Sword lockable pocket knife which I'm sure will be handy around the allotment and a stick-up bulb (as seen on tv! Requires 4x AA batteries) which gives off better light than my cheap shed solar light - who could resist! This place has taken over from Wilkos as my favourite shop. I shall never look down my nose at another Emporium of Tat again.

The 99p shop in Enfield Town fuc#ed up, the OH brought me home four large packets of :
Greenshaft garden peas :  300 seeds
6 in 1 salad bowl :  cress, toms, radish, lettuce, beetroot and spring onion
6 in 1 herb garden  :   6 small packets
4 in 1 super spinach  : 4 small packets
All for the grand total of 99p
She went in the next day and they were 99p for 1 large packet not all four.  ;)    :o      ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
