Frost Damage

After the long freeze up, my garden is finally starting to thaw out, however the thaw is bringing its own problems.

We have an old concrete path running almost the entire length of the garden, which over the years has broken up in places and i have replaced these sections with dry laid paving slabs. Then subsequently the garden has been altered around the path leaving the path slightly proud of the surrounding area. These slabs (and others forming dry laid paths in the garden) have suddenly shifted and become unstable, badly so in places. I am presuming that the recent run of severe frosts have got into the foundation layer and disturbed it, resulting in some sort of  'frost heave' once the thaw arrived. Looks like I have some work to do, either relay the slabs or doing a 'proper' repair with concrete. Cant let it stay like it as the path is on a slope so with loose slabs is not particularly safe at present.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
