Gourmet Potato tests in Gardening "Which"

It just happens that I have grown most of the same varieties that "Which" tested, for many years, and I do not agree with some of their test results.
They rate Shetland Black as having poor taste, while I reckon that it is one of the best tasting tatties with a strong, earthy real potato taste. I suspect that their problem is that they boiled all their heritage potatoes, leaching out a lot of the taste and colour from the likes of Burgundy Red and Salad Blue. I always microwave potatoes in a covered container to retain as much colour and flavour as possible.
Their photo of Yethom Gypsy looks wrong, unless their sample is so dirty, it has covered up the colours and markings.
They tested the three Mayan varieties and say that Mayan Twilight produced half the crop of Mayan Gold. I grew the same varieties last year and noted that Twilight produced the biggest crop of the three. However, my potato bed had been spread with manure contaminated with Aminopyralid which probably affected the yields.
Strangely, they did not like the taste of Anya potatoes either, while most other reports that I have seen, were favourable.
Anybody have any comments on their test results?

I love the taste of Anya!
I grew it, and other varieties last year but my family liked it so much that
it is the only potato I will be growing this year.

I always steam them, I never thought of microwaving.  I'll have to try it.

Surely the cooking technique has to be appropriate for the spud.... my personal fave spud (PFA) makes terrible mash for instanc....., and I love mash.....

I agree it must be down to the cooking techniques - I always steam, never boil.

And I absolutely can't trust tasters who don't like Anya - unbelievable!

I always steam, never really considered microwaving.
Although I've never grown Anya, it has always had good reveiws on here.
The only info I can remember on the Mayans is that there not great storers, but never anything about yeilds.     :-\      ;D ;D ;D
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

I thought it was a good unbiased report on potatoes from a group of independant professionals which made a change from what I normally read in magazines who are paid vast advertising fortunes by other companies.
I was a bit surprised that they didn't like the Shetland Black but they were all prepared by the same person in the same way and on that day that was the result.
Some of those potatoes grown in a different area would have given different taste results.
Again it all comes down to personal taste to what you like or don't like.
