Would you do it now or is it best to leave it till  the Spring ???

I'd wait until Halloween, when I like to dress up as the grim reaper and scarify the kids who knock on my door.

Do mine in the autumn.

I did it a week or so ago with the intention of sowing more grass to fill the gaps. If I did it in the spring, the weeds fill the gaps before the grass does.

Trouble is, this year its too dry for grass to germinate.  :(

I'm quite proud of my lawn, but I couldn't/wouldn't call it a bowling green   :-[

it's next to the allotments, it's ours 'cos we get all the leaves and grass cuttings between us all  ;D

Oh, I get it.  I was just ready to yell, "No, don't scarify your seeds yet! They'll dry out by the time you plant them in the Spring.
