I'm cutting back the comfrey today, putting in a netted bag and into a water butt. I'll leave it there for a few weeks but how long afterwards can I still use the "tea"?

Cheers

I used to use my comfrey like this but like you was unsure of it's "shelf life" so now I put the leaves in a bucket/container with holes in the bottom, weight it down, I put that in another container so that as the comfrey turns to liquid, this it does without the addition of any water.it drips through I then collect this liquid and decant it into clean milk containers and I believe it doesn't really have a "use by date" because it's just comfrey. As long as you make sure it's covered so doesn't get any rainwater in.I make a solution up in a watering can to the colour of weak tea.

if you bottle the liquid it should last for at least a year. just give the container a shake before use.
You couldn't make it up!
