Propergating Rasberries

Can I? If so how, as I'd like more of my autumn and summer fruiting varieties

Have not done this yet, so just writing what I have read.

Raspberries naturally spread by sending underground runners, so new plants will pop up outside your row.
When the plants are dormant, you chop off these runners, dig up the plant and plant it in the new growing spot.

absolutely - my plot was over run last year when I got it so I just dug up all 'suckers' and thinned rows out as required and replanted - all have done very well and we get no end of fruit.  At least 2lb of fruit a week from 30 canes.

We bought 5 canes of Autumn Bliss about 5 years ago and we'd be swamped if I didn't thin them out every year.I've given loads away just dig them up after christmas when I cut the rest  down.I much prefer the autumn ones to the summer and only grow a few of the latter to get a taste early

I dont think propogation will be a problem! Mine pop up everywhere, agree with MacMac the whole plot would be full of them if I wasnt ruthless.

If you live near Bristol you are welcome to come and help yourself to some of mine!

Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll 'befriend' a fellow allotmenteer, just for a couple of months, and see how it goes.
