Living just a couple of miles from the site, all 3 of our kids are off today, two of them working as stewards so they don't have to pay. It's typicalfestival weather this morning (pissing down) but hopefully will clear up. My hallway if full of wellies and pot noodles! Looking forward toa quiet weekend. Anyone else going?

We had one day (Sunday) tickets to the V festival in Staffordshire last week.......enjoyed most of the music, but what a rubbish dump!

It was the filthiest festival I've ever been to, people dropping whole meals on the floor and no one was even attempting to clear up. My son (and quite a few other kids) caught on to the 10p refunds that were being given on the waxed cardboard cups, so started collecting them up...he made over £26 in under an hour! :o

I'd like to have seen the Prodigy at Leeds though... :-\

If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

He'll have to work harder than that on the Open Day... ;D

As well as the rubbish, it's incredible what good stuff is just left at the end of the festival. My son and friends have gone this year with a 12-man tent and cooker that they picked up last year! Fortunately Oxfam and another charity from Leeds take a lot of the good stuff too.

You should have gone to Beautiful Days.... just about the cleanest biggish festival I've ever seen.... As I was pulling out of my backstage on the Monday most of the camping I went past was just small piles of bagged (seperately for recycling) rubbish in otherwise clean fields, the main arena and the "late night" bit was clear....

Latitude was pretty good as welll, there were a lot of recycling bins and although they were full at the  end of the weekend, there were constantly teams of volunteers picking stuff up. At Weston Park there were far fewer bins, but the reason it was so messy is that people just did not care what they did. I had 'rubbish rage' so many times when I saw food and cups being dropped on the floor when it was used, no concept of disposing of it considerately let alone recycling. The problem was the more people did that, the more just carried on as if it was acceptable. I'm obviously getting too old for festivals...grumble, moany old woman! ::)

Seaforth Allotments

I was gutted.

Went to Reading (/Leeds) festival last year and had to stick Metallica not-quite rocking it as headliners, with only Rage Against the Machine (and a few unsigned bands on the tiny wee stage) providing any entertainment.

This year: Arctic Monkeys, Faith No More, Kaiser Chiefs, Kings of Leon (even though the set was apparently pants), La Roux, Placebo, Radiohead, The Prodigy...

I missed a corker.  :(

Yes, apparently you did, from what I heard from my three before they retired to bed yesterday. All I can tell you was that it was loud- we live about 2 miles as the crow flies from the site and I could actually pick out the tune of Kings of Leon's "Use somebody" from here, though that could be because it's a favourite of my daughter's so I've been hearing it all year! Apparently they went down better in Leeds than Reading but only did a very short show.

Now it's all over bar the washing....

My eldest went to Leeds, had a fantastic time, just doing her washig now - not pleasant.  She texted me at 2 in the morning to tell me how good Radiohead were, I really appreciated that!
