Cost of Growmore

Cor nearly fell out of bed this morning ::)
Growmore 25kg cost me £12.90 this time last year and today £25.95  :o :'( :'( :'(  I suppose it's of things to come, but it's still a shock.  Horse manure is in short supply round here, so what else can I do? :'( :'(

I'm giving rock dust a go this/next year - supposed to naturally revitalise tired soil - 25KG for £10.50 plus post.

I had a lot of mineral deficiency this year, so I hope this will help

For the nitrogen you can try a liquid feed with nettles in a hessian sack inside a water butt.

edit: really great stuff SMP, where do you buy it from? Just read up a bit on the rock dust, sounds fantastic ! I read an article here:

Not sure how it means crop don't require water, to quote:

Beechgrove has trialled rockdust and found that it had no noticeable effect.

18 months ago I bought a 25Kg bag for £7.99. This spring it was £14 and I refused to pay that much.

Its not just the cost of production, but also the cost of transportation. (so thet tell me).

our lotty shop is still selling growmore 20p a pound...fish b and  b 22 p a pound
just bought a load for next season

Growmore is made from an oil by product and as the price of oil has sored so has growmore :(
Cheapest places are bigger shops like B & Q ect but if buying in bulk try N A Kays or by the pallet load from Proctors.
