Pomeranian......... Anyone got one ?

We have acquired a 6yr old  male Pom and only ever having had cats was wondering if anyone has one and could give me any advice on looking after them/living with them and are there any common health problems. He does a lot of panting - is this normal ?

We have him on a weeks trial to see if he gets along with our 11yr old Persian female cat.

He arrived yesterday afternoon and so far they are getting along fine .
