Very pleased with the yield from my Lady Balfour potato's,  it is the first time that I have grown this variety and this is the yield of one root.

It's supposed to have very high blight resistance, so it might be one to try for next year.

Keep us updated Richard - I really dont care too much about yield, it's flavour that comes top of my list.

Lady Balfour are my  favourites. Only ever bought them from Sainsbury's & they always seem to be organic. Lovely mashed, roasted & baked IMO. I think Tim has tried them.

I've been looking this spud up thanks to this thread, they seem too good to be true. I'll be ordering these for my main crop next year, thanks for the info Richard and everyone.

I am growing these for the first time this year too ... as yet have not dug them ... the foliage was looking a little odd so to be on the safe side I cut off the hulms and will dig them at the end of the month.

I have to say I was very impressed at the way they grew through the season ... beautiful healthy plants  ;D ... I look forard to tasteing them!!  :D

Richard what kind of soil do you have it looks quite damp ???
