 ;D ;D ;D

I have one! An aub, that is, on the plant on the patio! Didn't think it would work cos I only have one plant and it has been outside since mid June, but I do have one egg sized fruit and am very excited. I had to tell someone...

Well done, I have several flowers but no fruit yet on my aubergine.

I can't believe how slow growing they are, I've got about 15 plants in the greenhouse, they are about 18" tall and so far have produced just 1 tiny flower/fruit? At this rate I'm going to run out of summer before they do anything. Can anyone tell me, can I overwinter these plants?  :-\

Biscombe

Yep, cut em back like chillies and they come back next year

Quotethey come back next year

Do they have to be indoors for this?   Can I dig up those outside repot them an keep them through the winter?

i tried that last year but the harsh winter and a cold greenhouse killed them off but before the really cold weather started they were fine so if you have a heated greenhouse or conservatory it should work.

no flowers on mine yet.  :-[

I'm trying a small one called Slim Jim and am afraid they are really going to be tiny when ripe.
What does one do with teensy weensy eggplants?
The handle on your recliner does not qualify as an exercise machine.

It's looking like my best ever year for these, oddly

My aubergines have lots of flowers on them but after a while, the flowers drop, sometimes from the stalk so I don't think I'll get any fruits.

Same is happening with my tomatillo,  loads of flowers ahve been appearing for ages but they just drop and no fruits  :-[

What does one do with Slim Jim, Grannie? Most everything except Involtini. One might say what does one do with the fat ones?

Fat is not always beautiful. More likely pappy. And  the slimmer varieties are always more reliable.

I tried them 2 years running. Lovely healthy looking plants but the fruit was crabby. Put their space over to more successful projects
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

We have our first Aubergine and Okra yesterday... lots of fruit set on the Aubergines. Could be a good year here too, if we get another sunny day this summer...  ;D
