Just taken the first harvest... filled a lakeland freezer tray with them (after removing sheaves)  ;D At least another three pickings to go...

Do you remove all of the leaves/covering them Saddad? Do you blanch them or just bung em in?

All the leaves and the tassles... OH was wearing a "blonde" wig...  ::)
Then just bung them in the freezer.
Does anybody know if you shouldn't eat the stem/shoulder... it was very nice...  :-X

Saddad, I'm going to grow these next year, and was just wondering what kind of yield you got?  How many cobs per plant roughly?

I had a packet... so probably @32 -36 plants def in rows of 12. Plants now7-8' tall. Taken the first two off about 20 plants here, all had at least three developing "cobs" and I think a minimum of 5 per plant. They are in a "bed" about 12' by 5'...  I'll get a pic of them in situ if you want...  :)

When do the cobs start developing Saddad. No cobs appearing yet on ours but not that tall yet.

Basically a week or so after the tassles at the top... but as soon as the silks are showing you should take the "cobs" off... Picture on other computer...  ::)

I find these very prolific, the more I cut, the more they produce so I've gone down from 12 plants to 6 this year.
