I live next to a school and this is the norm around them.

I have told the school and advised the police.
Criminal damage is not a thing I am up to speed with and not sure whether there is a claim for compensation here.
They have been seen but deny all knowledge of the event as they were supposed to be in the school at the time.

Where do I stand?

Can I get the fence repaired/replaced at a cost to the offenders? :-\

You can sue them but there is no statutory scheme for compensation like the CICB for personal injuriess.  Of course, if they are minors then your claim will be far more difficult as it will be against the parents so you will have to show they are at fault in someway.  Other than that, you are left with insurance.

I have been advised by the school that the parents of the children are going to be coming around at the weekend to resolve this matter and make amends any damage to the fence. Justice seems to be on my side for a change. The parents also have taken responsibility for their children's actions too.
Police had little if any part in this, I am losing faith in them fast.
Looks like if you have money or are part of a big company they will respond, but if you are a person of no real standing then we will look into it and that's as far as it goes.
I am having more faith in the community now, as they would not have even cared down in London. I feel for Ceres down in the smoke as its a hard deal working a plot within the inner city at the best of times. My heart goes out to those who have put their all into something and lose their faith in it due to a small pocket of time wasters.
I will not give up and keep looking for another allotment to extend my love of growing. As for those who have done wrong then we must get them back on the right track by showing them the rights and wrongs before it corners them with no other way out.
Look to the future and hope that we can change things for the better. :)
