I've got very close to being hit by lightening at least 3 times. the most scary was the ball lightening which rolled towards me fortunately it seemed to be stopped by the glass in the window and it deflected off and went around the house and hit a tree across the road and burned it to the ground. Of course the thunder hit at the same time and i had my cat sitting on my lap so I didn't escape free of injury!!

There's nobody worse than gardeners for moaning about the weather, if it's not a steady 19 degrees with a light breeze followed by a night of rain we're not happy !.

That is soooo true !

haven't had any rain to speak of (apart from 10 mins overnight last week) for blumin ages (weeks....) My poor spuds look very sorry for themselves, but the chillies and cucs are very bonny!

And having to adjust when I go to the allotment - definitely early morning or early evening.

Am I the only one that likes both winter and summer ?  :D

I was once walking across a moor in Cornwall when a heavy shower came on. Ten minutes earlier it had produced a single roll of thunder, but I hadn't thought twice about it. Suddenly there was a blood-red flash, no thunder that I heard, and I was lying on my back. I never did work out how close it was.

It's all very well to rejoice over scorching temperatures, but where my plot is it tends to mean floods!

This weather is not a patch on 1976 it went on for weeks back then, I was working in London at the time so it was Willesden Lido most afternoons and the Hammersmith embankment of a night time for a few bevvies, ;)

It rained here today.  The drop landed on my left upper arm midway between shoulder and elbow at 1.37pm.

I remember miles of moors burning. Let's hope it doesn't get that dry again!

In 1976 I was 18, I was an apprentice bricklayer in the London Borough of Barking.

I had an exceptionally nice next door neighbor but that's another story and nothing to do with the weather  ::)
