This is one that I had off Saddad

When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

Hi Shirl,

Looking at your photo it looks as though you have some chicken wire in amongst the canes. Is this laid at an angle to support the squashes?

No Mushy this is there to stop the foxes from playing amonst them.I just wrap it around the outside of the frame so that they can't get in. I will remove it when the plants get up the canes.

Looking good, seeds from DebP...  :)

The fruits look like large green watermelons...the name comes from the look of the flesh inside, it separates into jagged shards like sharks teeth. Lovely in soups, it looks like noodles. My seeds came from saved seed from my Chinese friend Lee, who has been growing and saving her own seeds for years so they are well adapted to Derby conditions! I haven't grown any this year, no room..... :-\
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

I have two very vigerous plants, from your seed Deb... sure we will be able to pass one across... Alison asks if you have any recipes...  :)

Rhubarb Thrasher

it's a strange thing - the inside is completely different to winter squash, pumpkin or courgette. Didn't quite know what to do with it. Stuck it in a soup

Its very boisterous I know that much. Have had to shorten 4 side shoots areadyl

They are very vigorous plants, mine grew right through a beech tree last year, the fruit hung down like ornaments! ;D

Mine are well over half way up the swing frame...  :)

Mine is just at the top of the cane frame and about to go over the other side. I should have put it against the sycamore tree at the top of the plot.

With the hot weather this week mine are nearly at the top of the frame....
