Bought it from Sainsbury's today instead of the farmer and the label says to cook at 180C... I would only ever pot roast it, surely 180 would completely kill it?

Yes it would, i would only ever pot roast it as well, the slower the better, done that over many years.  I cannot understand where they got that sort of information from, i would question them but still do it your way just to show them you know how. ;D ;D ;D

surely that's taking slow cooking a bit far  :D

I forgot to inform the cook once that we had brisket and he roasted it in the usual way, rather than pot roasting slowly as normal, it was fine, tasty and not in the least bit tough.

I use my slow cooker for brisket - with lots and lots and lots of slow cooked onions - yum - put me in the notion now.  Off to investigate freezer :D

Get a pressure cooker and try it in that. My lot love the pot roast I do in that followed by a quick browning in the oven.
Or you can chop it down slow cook it and then fill pies with it.
Finally you can slice it into strips and slow cook it with onions and add mustard to the gravy for the llittle kick.

Got them back now to put some tread on them
