Planting suggestions please

I want to plant the edges of my stream with native species.

It's heavily shaded by next door's hedge, but gets some sun in the morning. Most of the time you can walk along it in wellies, but when it rains can quickly run a couple of feet deep, and when it really rains will move truck tyres, bales of newspapers, large logs etc.

Any suggestions?
