I have a tomatillo "Verde Pueblo" plant about 18inch tall (and three more about an inch tall but anyway) It has some flowers on and I have planted it out in the garden tonight (was in the greenhouse)

Has any one got any tips on growing these plants?

I have read you needs two or more for better fruit setting and they can get a bit out of hand but any tips?

My tip is be ready to eat a lot of tomatillos, these beasts are prolific.

I soooo hope you are right. It already has lots of flowers on. I just dont want them to fall off.

Last year I planted mine outside with my tomatoes. In comparison they always looked yellow and straggly but in the end they still gave lots of fruit.

The tricky thing is deciding whether they are ripe or not becuase they just get a bit yellower!

I liked eating them raw they were a bit tart though!
good luck

When they are ripe the skins become tacky.
