Very nice. Do cut Aquilegia and Solomon's Seal last very long.

Still, if it hides the picture of the MIL, its worth every second.  :)

How Fabulous saddad, what do you treat the solomon's seal with to stop them being eaten alive, whatever it is I know you have to be quick.

Mine have never been eaten by anything.

There is a sawfly, but I've only had it once. Breaking the lifecycle by getting rid of a generation worked well.

I'm fairly certain it is gooseberry sawfly "eating out"...  :)

mine also get eaten EVERY year ,stripped infact .The little bliters wont leave em alone...... :-\

I often have trouble with Solomon's Seal Sawfly larvae - they can strip a plant bare in just a day! I try and just keep an eye on the plants and the larvae can be rubbed off pretty easily. Last year I fried them all on the shed roof to kill them and the birds had a feast!
